The only man who can get Derrick Henry to publicly clap back online would be Paul Kuharsky. And he accomplished that feat last week. But is he entirely wrong with his take? PEOPLE ARE ASKING! And we take time to answer. What do you think? Does Paul Kuharsky have a point?

If you remember last week, after the AFC Championship, we set out to find the random guy in the Titans jersey at the Chiefs-Ravens AFC Championship. Well, it took some hunting. And some help. But we finally found the guy… and sat him down to ask the most pressing questions. Step aside, 30 for 30. Korked Bats is here with the new greatest sports docuseries. My parents must be so proud my journalism degree is finally paying off.

Let me start this by saying I am completely against wearing jerseys of a team to a games they’re not playing in. To me, it’s an incredibly douchey move. You don’t need to show your allegiance to a team who’s not even playing in the game you’re at. It’s like rocking a Great Gatsby costume to an 80s party. Just wear regular clothes if you’re not a fan of either team.

Can you sense the however coming? Because here it comes…

However…

The exception to the rule is always wearing a Derrick Henry jersey. Just like this legend did.

And we’re not just saying that because we are The #1 Derrick Henry Fan Site On The Internet™. Ok, yes we are. But still. We love this dude and respect his fit in fairly hostile environment. Especially considering most people agree Derrick Henry is a better running back than Lamar Jackson.

Now a lot of Titans fans are disowning this guy for the sake of him clapping after a good play for the Ravens. “nO tRuE tITaNs faN wOUld eVeR rOot fOr thE RaVEnS!” Which, sure, isn’t wrong. But the Chiefs also suck big time too, so I’m willing to at least hear this guy out. I really wanna know his story’s Which is why we want to find him.

So if you know any Titans fans in Baltimore or hell, know anyone in Baltimore, reach out to them. Help us out here. It’s going to take a team effort. He is our new Carmen Sandiego. Where in the world is he? So please, ask around. Share this blog. Share our social posts about him. Do whatever it takes. I’ve seen Don’t F With Cats. The internet can do literally anything if we work together. So let’s do this. Let’s find this man so we can talk to him, get his story, and maybe send him a shirt.

And if you’re reading this, and you yourself just so happened to rock a King Henry jersey and an orange hat to an AFC Championship Game with the Ravens playing the Chiefs, then please hit us up:

korkedbats@gmail.com

We’ll also accept any tips or leads you may have. We want to find this guy.

Dear Tennessee Titans,

My second daughter’s due date is today and my wife is being induced tomorrow. I have been an emotional wreck this week. And it has nothing to do with my soon-to-be-born daughter. Please do not trade Derrick Lamar Henry Jr. I have been able to confirm that there are some within the building who regularly read and consume Korked Bats. So if you are one of those people currently reading this within the walls of St. Thomas Sports Park up there near Metrocenter, please pass word that we are not asking you. We are begging you. Are we saying this solely because we are The #1 Derrick Henry Fan Site On The Internet™? Not entirely. Because wherever King Henry goes, so goes Korked Bats. Would it suck having to make pro-Ravens content? I mean we’ve done it before.

But, yes.

It would.

Now look, would trading him be the best football move? I don’t know. I don’t get paid to think about that crap. But what I can tell you is he’s still the best player on your team and can do damage if he even has a semblance of an offensive line up front. Hell, just last year he popped off for 1,500+ yards (good for 2nd in the NFL) in only 16 games behind an offensive line that employed Dennis Daley at it’s most important position. Clearly, he doesn’t require much to still be great. And he’s one of few remaining bright spots on this team.

It’s no state secret that there is not much hope left for this season. The only quarterback with any experience is injured, and the few times he’s not, he’s in the process of getting injured because this offensive line stops fewer humans than captcha codes. Deandre Hopkins has been fun, but those are only on the handful of plays when our quarterback isn’t lying on his back. And well, Nick Folk has been the only consistent ray of sunshine on this dark elephant graveyard of a season.

Really, as a Titans fan, the only hope I have for joy is the potential of Derrick Henry either a.) breaking off a 50, 60 or 70+ yard run. Or 2.) him using his fist as a taser, and jolting grown men all over a football field.

I know football is a business. I recognize that you have to take emotions out of it. But for once in your franchises existence, can you just mix in a little emotion with this decision? I don’t want to see Eddie George in a Cowboys jersey, and I certainly don’t want to Steve McNair in a Ravens gamer. Not again. This time, just let Derrick Henry retire a Titan.

If you want to write me off as dumb or irrational, first off, get in line behind my wife. Second, that’s fine. I am admittedly being dumb AND irrational. But it’s not like keeping Derrick Henry on this 53-man roster will be detrimental to it. He’s still really good. And he’s still a leader in that locker room vocally, emotionally, and by example. Plus, whatever you get in return will never give you the return that 22 has and still can. Not another player, and certainly not a lottery ticket disguised as a draft pick.

So look, please keep Derrick in two-toned blue. If he goes, so will my joy. And I don’t want to cry in that hospital room more than once.

Thank you,

Austin

former PSL holder, Section 117, Row S, Seats 9 & 10

P.S. With all that said, let’s relive some of our favorite Derrick Henry moments.

Sometimes in life, you meet people who truly change the trajectory of your life by sharing insight with you that alters your perspective and truly transforms you into a better person. And for me, my new friend Chocolate Chip is not that guy. He’s so much more. Chocolate Chip G 3 is great and clearly full of wisdom (anyone who can point out that throwing darts is easier than taking darts is clearly wise beyond their years). CCG3 is a truth-teller and knowledge birther. He loves as the day is long. And he truly will embrace you with a warm hug. I’m not sure I’ll ever see Chocolate Chip G 3 for the rest of my days, but I know this, my life has been more enriched because he was in it. If only even for just a fleeting moment. Chip G, thank you for all you’ve done for me. I will never forget you. You or your delicious chocolate chip tattoo which sits so conveniently placed above your giraffes of the Serengeti tattoo.

And always remember, it’s easier to throw darts than to take darts.

Remember last weekend when the Ravens stomped on the Titans logo? Since there was so much going on, we decided to break it down. And not just because the NFL decided to fine Marcus Peters a cool 15 g’s for the dance.

Peters was fined $15,000 on Saturday for taunting during the Ravens’ 20-13 wild-card victory Sunday in Tennessee, a league source confirmed to ESPN. The discipline was for “physical actions directed at the Titans bench” by Peters, the source said.

“Physical actions directed at the Titans bench?” If anything, he put on a show for them. Really the oly “physical action directed at the Titans bench” was by Patrick Queen who waved. bwin شركة But look, I’m not gonna complain. لعبه بينجو

From our weekly 3HL take on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville.

It needs to be talked about.

Look, the way the Titans played (especially their offense) on Sunday, they deserved to have their logo stomped on. Hell, when it comes to home playoff games, the Ravens should go ahead and spray paint their ugly ass shield at midfield. Because at playoff games in Nashville, the Titans are 2-3 with all three losses to the Ravens. In fact, neither team in this series has won a home playoff game (Ravens are 0-2 at home in the playoffs to the Titans). كيف تربح في مراهنات كرة القدم So maybe they should paint the field for the visiting team next time.

Am I mad at the Ravens for stomping on the logo? No. I give my full take in the video above, but where my true disdain lies is with that piss baby John Harbaugh. العب واربح المال الحقيقي What an absolute tool that guy is. You’re going to bitch and moan like a kid who just got his ice cream stolen when the Titans merely stand (not dance) at midfield for a pregame huddle? Saying it’s “disrespectful.” But when you’re on the road, you’ll clear your bench to dance (and stomp) on a logo during a game? What is that called John? And then there’s the refusal to shake Vrabel’s hand after you lose. لعبة القمار What a brat. I know we’re supposed to respect him because he’s a “Super Bowl winning” head coach, but remember, he won his only Super Bowl against another Harbaugh!

But look, am I a sore loser? Of course I am. Ravens, hat tip for the win, but you still suck. And your coach wears diapers.

*Sigh.*

Dammit. Today sucked. But two things are true about this year’s Tennessee Titans team.

1. I haven’t had this much fun watching a Titans team in two decades.

2. I’ve never been this frustrated watching a good Titans team in.. well… ever.

But that’s how I’d sum up this season: fun as hell and frustrating as hell. And this Wild Card game against the Ravens was the epitome of it all. I know we don’t want to talk about it. Hell, I don’t want to blog about it. This has been sitting as a draft that I’ve been coming back to and chipping away at. Like when your mom makes you clean your room before you can have fun and you just put one toy away at a time. That was me today. But let’s stop stalling let’s just break it down.

The Titans Defense

A.k.a. the achilles heal of this year’s team. From the pass rush to 3rd down stops, they very rarely got it done. Until… today?? Lol, of course when the Titans face the most elusive quarterback in the sport, they sack him 4 times in the first half, despite only having 19 sacks on the season.

If anything, the Ravens did the Titans a favor by throwing the ball so much. They were able to mostly bottle up Lamar Jackson. Aside from two major runs, he was only able to get a few yards at a time, which is not typical of Lamar. Call me crazy, but I was hella impressed with the defense today. You keep Lamar to 20 points. You should win. Especially when your offense is top 3 in the entire NFL.

Mike Vrabel’s To Do list in the offseason should be to hire a damn defensive coordinator. This is now the second time he’s been “in charge” of a defense (Texans D.C. in 2017 and now Titans D.C. in 2020), and both teams finished with one of the worst defenses in the sport. I’m not saying Vrabel’s not a good coach. He’s a damn good head coach. But D.C.? Not at all. It’s like the reverse Peter Principle for him.

The Titans Offense

The Titans chose the worst possible day to play their worst game of the season. It was bizzaro world watching them play today. I don’t want to talk about it any more.

The 4th & 2

Did I like the call to punt it on 4th and 2 from the Ravens 40 yard line? Not at all. Did I agree with it? Not at all. Do I understand the reason? Maybe. I mean, this defense was playing their best game of the season. Keeping Lamar pretty bottled up. (If you compare how this defense got waxed by much worse quarterbacks this year.) Am I going to pin the entire game on this play call? No. Can I stop asking myself questions and then answering them? Probably not.

I do find it a bit ironic that Vrabel was willing to chop off his penis for a Super Bowl title last year, but not willing go for it on 4th and 2 from your opponents territory in this one.

Derrick Henry

Yeesh. I hope nobody else was watching this game.

But if they were, and they want to use that piss poor performance as an argument against Derrick winning the MVP this year, tell them they’re idiots. And then tell them that today’s game should prove the point of just how VALUABLE he is. The Titans have the 3rd best offense in the NFL. They average 30 points a game. When Derrick (yes, we’re on a first name basis) gets bottle up like he did today, the entire offense suffers. Thus proving how valuable he is.

But aside from that, you can do nothing but tip your cap to the Ravens. They bottled The King up. Like absolutely BOTTLED him. In most games, when Derrick has sub-100 yard rushing performances, it’s because the Titans fell behind early and had to play catch up, or in other terms, abandon the run. But today? Titans carried a 10-0 lead for a while. They ran Derrick 18 times. Still not the 24+ they would prefer. But he could only get 40 yards, and that tells me there was another issue. Not adjusting to the Ravens stuffing the box. Check this tweet from Paul Kuharksy.

It very much seems stubborn. If the defense is going to load the box that much, figure something else out.

[divider][/divider]

Did I realistically think this team could win a Super Bowl? With that defense, no. But I thought if that defense could play the way they played today, they could make a deep run. Lol, boy was I wrong. Oh, well. At least the Predators drop the puck later this week. I’m sure that won’t end in a terribly heartbreaking fashion!

It’s not everyday a reigning NFL MVP leaves a game for like thirty minutes to take a massive dump fix his cramps. Those cramps must’ve been really bad. In fact, I bet he tried to hold in the cramps for as long as he could and then at some point, he just gave in and realized those cramps were coming whether he liked it or not. So I’m sure he grabbed his phone, an extra roll of toilet paper, and just went to the bathroom to let those cramps out.
