The Yankees lost their 14th game out of the last 18 last night, losing to the Red Sox in 10 innings, 5-3, but somehow they still brought home a dub. One of the greatest MLB franchises ever just dropped a bobblehead honoring one of the greatest sitcoms ever, by honoring one of their greatest employees. Not Jeter. Not Gehrig. Not even George Herman Ruth, or George Steinbrenner, but rather a different George. Last night, they dropped a bobblehead in honor of their former assistant to the traveling secretary, George Costanza… and yada, yada, yada, it’s real, and it’s spectacular. It’s about time the Yankees partnered with Vandalay Industries. Seinfeld remains an iconic classic sitcom. And I know the older I get and the longer I hold on to this take, the more and more I sound like my parents honking Three’s Company or my grandparents attesting that The Andy Griffith Show is still the greatest sitcom of all time. But I feel like I still have a few more years to stand by this take before my millennial ass enters boomer territory. Seinfeld is on Netflix right now, so go start it. The first season or two might be a chore to get through, like most shows, but once it gets into a grove, it doesn’t look back for nine seasons – which is almost half as many seasons as it’s been since the Yankees won a World Series.

Look, it’s not often I’ll give the Evil Empire their props, but here I have to tip my cap like that little kid at Jeter’s last game. Here’s hoping Yankee Stadium went full Seinfeld and stocked the concession stands with pretzels that make people thirsty.

P.S. Larry David’s story of firing George Steinbrenner is an all-time story.

We live in a day and age where Minor League Baseball teams all try and out do each other for social media attention with their different theme nights, giveaways, and zany costume uniforms. It’s really kind of grown tired. In fact, it’s almost gotten to the point where teams should just tell us when they don’t have special theme nights. Now that would be news, because it seems like every day, especially this time of year, we’re hearing about…

“Legends of the Hidden Temple uniform night!”

“Tom Brady mystery jersey bobblehead!”

“Coronavirus night!” – unfortunately tickets are non-transferrable

All these teams want are attention on social media and/or write-ups on websites and sports blogs. Well, let me tell you something, buddy… it worked. Because this team in Jacksonville just dropped the best bobblehead.

Sometimes in life, the gods smile upon you, my friend.

One of the greatest scenes from one of the greatest sitcoms of all time can now sit perfectly on your desk at work, or on the shelf in your man cave, or if your wife is like mine, in a box in the back of your closet because “We’re not keeping that out.” But now you can get a bobblehead that you wouldn’t even be able to find in your local jerkstore.

According to MLB.com:

The bobblehead will only be one part of a larger celebration of the sitcom with events ranging from a marble rye fishing competition to an envelope-licking event. The only thing missing is a Jerk Store pop-up, but rumor has it they’re facing some stock shortages.

Here, take five minutes and relive the greatness of that episode.

This is the police artist’s renderings of the self-proclaimed Nerdlucks, the criminal aliens who stole Syracuse’s basketball ability.

SYRACUSE, NY — After beginning the season 25-0, the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team has lost four of their last five games. Now many Syracuse starters are claiming that a group of criminal aliens, who call themselves Nerdlucks, came to earth to steal their basketball playing ability.

“Nothing is confirmed yet, but I assure you, we’re looking into the possibility,” Syracuse Athletic Director Daryl Gross said. “I’ve actually heard of this happening before, so we need to be extremely careful. كيف تربح المال من النت ”

Gross continued, “To think that some heartless creature would do this to our young and ambitious student athletes. It makes me sick. They’re monstars.”

To be safe, Syracuse has decided to put their players through a series of medical and psychological tests to determine where their basketball abilities went.

“This sucks,” Syracuse Freshman PG Tyler Ennis said. “I was told I wouldn’t have to that as long as I am a popular student athlete, I wouldn’t have to take any tests in college. Carmelo lied.”

Many experts are claiming that the idea of criminal aliens, called Nerdlucks, coming to earth to steal basketball talent is actually “more common than you’d think.” David Tressel, a UFO truther, tried explaining their reasoning for coming and admitted that there could be a few different reasons why this occasionally happens.

“Sometimes, the aliens descend upon earth looking for basketball skills because their boss’s amusement park is facing foreclosure, so they’re sent to kidnap cartoon characters. However, when said cartoon characters don’t want to go, they challenge the aliens to a game of basketball. The aliens accept, leading them to steal the talents of basketball players on earth,” Tressel said, appearing a bit too knowledgable on the subject. “However, there are times when they steal basketball abilities from the Knicks, just to mess with them.”

Jim Boeheim
Jim Boeheim storming out of his press conference.

Jim Boeheim held a press conference early Wednesday morning to discuss the topic.

“You guys are seriously believing this? طريقة المراهنات في كرة القدم This is the plot to Space Jam. We watched that friggin’ movie on our trip to Duke earlier this season. Instead of taking responsibility for playing like crap, they probably decided to use this as an excuse instead. Is no one else realizing this?! I feel like I’m overdosing on crazy pills! لعبة روليت اون لاين ” Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim yelled. “I should’ve seen this coming when they started playing Quad City DJ’s in the locker room!” Boeheim added, before nearly removing his jacket and storming out of the room.

According to NCAA President Mark Emmert, there are no rules that specifically state aliens can’t steal basketball abilities of a school. Although, Emmert was sure to add, “If a student-athlete was to travel to a cartoon land to play in a basketball game against the criminal aliens in an attempt to get the basketball abilities of the Syracuse players back, that student-athlete will lose his or her amateur status and will be ruled ineligible.”

In unrelated news, that actor who played Newman on Seinfeld has gone missing. We’ll report more as we find out.

:Note: While we realized that Korked Bats is a dedicated sports site, we feel the issue discussed in the following article transcends all medium, and, though it has nothing to do with sports, must be discussed. Thank you, KB.

Early Tuesday morning, beloved actor George Steinbrenner passed away from a heart attack. He suffered the heart attack while (most likely) researching another role, as he was found in the Spring Training Facilities of the New York Yankees (baseball) organization.

Steinbrenner will be most remembered for his role as the owner of the New York Yankees organization, a franchise belonging to Major League Baseball in the United States of America. Leaving us is the man who coined such phrases as, “Hire this man!” and “You could put that fancy mustard on a shoe and it would taste pretty good to me.”

Steinbrenner also reprised his Seinfeld character on multiple episodes of Saturday Night Live, as well as The Late Show with David Letterman and even an episode of Trading Places. He defined method acting. Stories are told of random people encountering Steinbrenner on the street, and, upon a brief conversation, they discovered he was still in character.

Thank you, George. You were one of the funniest George’s on Seinfeld, and you will be missed.

We lost one of the greats yesterday.

R.I.P. George Steinbrenner
